Workers of aluminium industry prepare for celebration of Metallurgist Day

The third Sunday of July is usually celebrated in Russia as a professional occasion of metallurgists. More than 120 employees were awarded at Bratsk Aluminium Works of ОК RUSAL.
Festive events devoted to Metallurgist Day will be carried out on 17-18th of July. On the threshold Brats Aluminium Works traditionally celebrates the best employees. Photos of 15 workers, who had made a major contribution to production development, were placed at the Honor board. Letters of commendation and thanks from the management of RUSAL company and Bratsk Aluminium Works will be presented at the grand meeting of the employees.
More than 30 workers will be awarded by Ministry of Industry and Commerce, by the Governor of Irkutsk region and by the Mayor of Bratsk. This year the titles of honorary metallurgists will be given to Aleksandr Bondarev and Aleksandr Trushkov. Also the awards will be given to the winners of the sports contest at Bratsk Aluminium Works and to the participants of the anti-crisis posters competition «Crisis is the time of changes». On the eve of the Metallurgist Day a traditional festive evening will be held in the veteran’s centre.
– This year metallurgists will spent this professional holiday with their families, – said Rishat Valitov, a HR Director of Bratsk Aluminium Works. – A great sports event will be organized at the base of the enterprise’s yacht club. The employees of the plant and service enterprises will be invited with their families.
A family celebration of the Metallurgist Day will be started with a sports competition. Separate entertainment events are planned for children. Show and concert programs will be held with bands of Bratsk and leading actors and musicians form Irkutsk. The organizers are confident, that Bratsk metallurgists and their families will be able to have a rest and a lot of fun.
The major events at Novokuznetsk Aluminium Works will begin on 15th of July. 57 employees will be ordained into veterans of work at the museum of labour glory.
A governor's reception devoted to the Metallurgist Day will be held on 16th of July at culture centre of JSC «ZSMK» where 8 workers of Novokuznetsk Aluminium Works are also invited.
A grand meeting will be carried out on Friday 17th of July. The management of the factory will congratulate the employees and will present ministerial awards, letters of commendation and thanks from Administration of the region and city.
A great sports family event will begin on 18th of July. Not only workers and their families, but also everyone who wishes can participate in contests, races and demonstrate one’s dexterity, team spirit and urge towards victory. The winners will receive presents.
«This year the celebration will not be as spectacular as previous years, - comments Elena Neklepaeva, a HR Director of Novokuznetsk Aluminium Works. – The most important thing for us is solidarity of metallurgists and enthusiasm of guests. We invite everyone who wishes to participate and we hope, that this family event will bring joy not only for our employees, but also for all townspeople.»
Regardless of the situation the metallurgists of RUSAL in Kransnoyarsk plan to celebrate their professional occasion merrily as usual. Now the workers of RUSAL are involved in preparation to «The ancient Greek Olympic games». The organizers intend to transform the stadium «Metallurgist» into Olympia, a small town in the South of Greece, where according to the legend a famous sports competition was carried out.
Two teams from Krasnoyarsk ALuminium Works and RUS-Engineering will compete there for the title of “the Olympic champion“. There will be such contests as «Artemis’s Hunt», «Stages of Heracles», «Run of giants».
«The Metallurgist Day the employees of RUSAL traditionally celebrate with their families. Therefore we have added special contests for children into the program. I suppose that our idea called «Competition with chariots» will be appreciated by children. To check team solidarity we offer a contest «A race of centaurs ». Prizes are prepared for every participant, - informed Natalia Kiseleva, a Head of social programs department of «RUSAL Krasnoyarsk».
