Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company (UMMC) finished the construction of electrolysis hall at «Electrozinc»

UMMC finished the construction of new electrolysis hall at «Electrozinc» (a part of UMMC complex). 78 electrolysis baths are completely ready, with the help of which «Electrozinc» will be able to produce additionally up to 30 tons of commercial zinc per day.
According to the message of Sergey Bazikalov, a deputy chief of the electrolytic shop of JSC «Electrozinc», there were 620 baths before the electrolysis hall expansion. Today the quantity of baths has increased up to 698.
The investment of UMMC into construction of the electrolysis hall amounts to 85 millions of rubles. It is planned to commission new baths in September after completion of scheduled stopping repair of the whole zinc line.
It is worth to mention that new hall has modern polymer baths which will improve the efficiency of electrolysis process. As a result the cost of cathodic zinc will be reduced. Besides, the start up of the new electrolysis hall will provide additional work places.
The expansion of the electrolytic shop is a part of the development program of «Electrozinc» till 2015, which is directed to zinc output increase from 90 to 110 thousand tons annually, as well as quality improvement and solution of ecological problems.
